Soil quality and fertility in sustainable agriculture, with a contribution to the biological classification of agricultural soils

Soils and crops are nowadays particularly vulnerable to climate change environmental stresses. In many agrosystems, soil biodiversity the ecosystem services, provides under threat from a range of natural manmade drivers. Agricultural soils perturbated by agronomic practices so far adopted that disrupt trophic networks large extent make less productive in long term. this scenario, sustainable uses aimed at improving plant/root status, growth development play crucial role, as they have been found enhance biological capacity agricultural soils. This review paper is divided into four main parts: (a) The contentious nature organic matter. A few points Lehmann Kleber's article may mislead thinking. We just want stop think before moving on. (b) Soil quality/fertility. alive, dynamic, because living systems. (c) classification. concepts contained first two were well known fathers pedology but, unfortunately, their principles lost over time. (d) Which can be defined sustainable? As for point three, desired spirit stimulating provocation. published literature was analysed within holistic view, with agrosystems considered systems where soil, vegetation, fauna microorganisms co-evolve reciprocally influenced. Ultimately, will suggest better stewardship capital.
